Primary School Engagement Initiative
At the Innovation Centre, we are dedicated to inspiring the next generation of students by engaging primary schools in diverse, career-focused activities. Led by Penny Matchett - Head Teacher of Secondary Studies, our mission is to support the learning of primary-aged students and raise their awareness of job opportunities and future pathways available through Vocational Education, Tertiary Education, and hands-on work experiences.

We aim to break down job misconceptions and showcase the vast possibilities of in-demand jobs, both now and in the future. By fostering early awareness and excitement about various careers, we empower young learners to explore their interests, break stereotype barriers and make informed decisions about their futures.
Our programs include interactive information sessions with industry professionals, small group problem-solving activities, and exciting incursions and excursions to the Vocational Innovation Centre.

Experiences can range from 1-hour sessions to multi-week learning sequences, all supported by qualified and enthusiastic teachers. Each learning experience can be customised to meet the individual needs of primary schools and align with students' desired outcomes. Our primary programs are designed to develop students' general capabilities and work enterprise skills, ensuring a comprehensive and impactful educational journey.
